It's the Best Time of the Year

Summer is here. Luke still has school. So a little free time for me.

2 days kids...2 days post planning....Summer is almost here. I can't believe it.

5 years old

Five years ago I was preparing for Luke's induction which turned into an emergency c-section.  April14th went from being the hardest day of my life to the best in a heartbeat.  And now it is the best day every year!

This and that

Spring break is over:(  Now tomorrow I have a parent meeting and a  pre-observation meeting.  Then Tuesday observation day:(  Thursday is field trip day.  Whew.  What a week.  Oh and end of the nine weeks, it's get it done week!
Then nine weeks to go! Yes then summer.  Sweet summer before my baby goes to kindergarten.

Kindergarten

It should be a magical time of playing in the garden right?  In some schools, classes it is.  But in most it is a glorified first grade.  I hope I make the right choice for Luke.  We have 2 choices right now.  A class in my school or Seaside Charter Academy.  A waldorf school that focuses on the inner child, outside, nature....testing last.  The only downside so far, is that we will have to pay for before and aftercare, fundraiser a, etc.   So it will not be the money saving year we were hoping for...but it may be worth it.

18 days

Zoo Lights, Christmas lights, Santa visit, cookie baking, shopping, Christmas Day, zoo day, park day, art, art, art...that is our vacation in a nutshell.

Simple

Although we had some ups and downs...this is my favorite Christmas in a long time.  It was a simple day full of joy.  Luke enjoyed his castles, blocks, coloring book, books, tent:). Nothing electronic or over the top.  Which was perfect, and simple.
